AnomiC singles "End The Plague" and "Ode To Them ft. Todd Landkroon

Image
AnomiC AnomiC is a Thrash/Death metal band hailing from Amsterdam. Sounding like the best bits of Massacre and early Obituary. Combined with the intensity of thrash stalwarts such as Exodus and Sodom.  Today I am blown away by two singles. In anticipation of the upcoming "The Spider's Code".  The first of which is "End The Plague". This song wastes no time ripping into a fervent thrash riff. Straight away the drums and bass pummel you. The guitars following suit. Designed to rip your flesh off. The lyrics are about mother earth annihiliating humanity. The music really feels as if the earth itself is now alive. Raining down volcanic ash, tsunami wiping out civilizations. Earthquakes tearing open and swallowing cities whole. This song is frenetic, furious and undeniably badass. Gojira really couldn't match lyrical wit like this. The second single is "Ode to Them ft. Todd Landkroon". Opening with a somber, ominous melodic lead and heavy drums and ba...

AntiMozdeBeast - The Vagrant Unkempt Grave

Image
AntiMozdeBeast - The Vagrant Unkempt Grave   Today I am reviewing the most recent AntiMozdebeast full length. Self released May 15th. AntiMozdebeast is a talented vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, song writer, producer. He is an all in one, jack of all trades.  Since 2019 this Florida musician has worked tirelessly. Self releasing over a dozen full lengths. Not to mention various EP's and Singles. Creating a chaotic, atmospheric mixture of industrial, electronic, goth, synth, black metal. The Vagrant Unkempt Grave is led by "Solitude". Combining thunderous drum and bass, and a chaotic whirlwind of pulsating synth and keys. While the vocals recite an almost cult-like chant. Occasionally interspersed with the primal screams so often found in AntiMozdeBeast music. The strengths of AntiMozdeBeast are his ability to create discomfort, hellish soundscapes relying on heavy pulsating synth, drums and bass. These are often driven by occasional melodic, soaring arpeggios, and keyboa...

Gravecrawler New Song "Stagnant"

Image
Gravecrawler "Stagnant" Gravecrawler is a sludgy viscous death metal band from Sweden. They aren't exactly new. They are making themselves well known. With catchy grindy hooks. Black Metal style melodies and just enough brutal slam to make your neck ache. They have slowly released songs off their upcoming full-length "Nidus". Somewhat of a concept album centering around a rotten vile empty pit of despair. Yet something grows there amidst the gloom. Something sinister yet alive among the dead all the same. "Stagnant" being the newest it thunders in with a doomy melody and crushing drums. The song quickly gains momentum. With Gravecrawler there is a somewhat signature mixture of slam, black metal, old school death metal and gore grind. You'll take just enough of a battering to stay conscious. To appreciate the excellent vocal trade offs and the punchy lead work. "Stagnant" simply bludgeons you with the word. Nothing changes, nothing grows....

Antimozdebeast - Prelude

Image
Antimozdebeast "Prelude" February 26th the solo artist AntiMozdeBeast released a surprise new song entitled "Prelude". In anticipation of his upcoming release due out May 15th "The Vagrant Unkempt Grave". Prelude is a standalone single. AntiMozdebeast is a talented musician who writes, records and produces all of his own work. A master at creating haunting nightmarish dissonant soundscapes. Industrial Metal/electronic somewhat Gothic inspired. Their is a discordant chaos that is organized and focused to create discomfort. While also to provoke thought and emotion. Prelude is very much a chaotic whirlwind of pulsing synth and electronica. Surrounded by the harsh screams and chanted poetic vocals. There is an ominous feeling throughout.  Something that stands out to me often when I listen to AntiMozdeBeast is how intensely organized and well crafted the music is. While often coming across so dissonant and chaotic it feels improvisational. Which I think alot ...
